A lot has happened in such a short amount of time. I know that I told myself that I would focus on getting better, but I went out to the bar a few nights ago, and I picked up another guy. His name was Jacob - we didn’t get to fuck or anything, he was way too drunk and passed out before that could happen. I was disappointed. I ran into my neighbor on the way to my room, turns out he’s this cute waiter at a local restaurant that I had eaten at before. Long story short, he’s gonna be my new target. (Hopefully last?)

Anyway, I took Jacob to the restaurant, hoping to run into my neighbor, but we were seated in a different booth. Lame, right? But it gets better. Guess who was seated in my neighbor’s section? Glenn fucking Archer! Why did it have to be him, of all people? I never expected to see him there, but anyway, I decided to go and toy with him. He always was an amusing guy. He takes things too seriously and is always getting himself hurt. People like that annoy me.

At least when I went over to his booth, my neighbor noticed me. His name is Skylar - cute, isn’t it? He’s pretty tall, and I’m assuming he’s in good shape. That’s waiter’s uniform looks good on him, but I bet it would look even better on the floor. (Haha!)

He was ‘kind’ enough to come over to my place afterward, and he helped me unpack my things. He even wants to show me around the city, as if I don’t already know it. The kid’s naive, he’s going to make this too easy. We’re going to go out tomorrow, though, and I am looking forward to it.

It seems that I’ve misplaced my journal, though, so.. I’ll make a few notes here.

Skylar (Surname?):

  • Favorite books - The Giving Tree, Animal Farm, Flowers for Algernon
  • Goes to Columbia University
  • Majoring in Architecture
  • Likes to clean
  • Works at..Bruno’s?
  • Spends a lot of time at work (catch  him there if you can)
  • Probably studies a lot, too

I guess that’s all for now.

Sex at Dawn

experimentoneblog:

Recently, I saw a lecture given by the author of Sex at Dawn. Basically, it’s written by a husband and wife (both scientists) that argue humans are naturally promiscuous. The book presents some really interesting ideas, challenging what most people believe to be true about human sexuality and relationships.

For example, it’s suggested “Paternal certainty” (i.e. a man’s concern with being the biological father of his partner’s child) was an idea that only started with the advent of Agriculture when ownership became important. Before that, humans were “fiercely egalitarian” and shared everything including sexual partners.

The book also suggests that it is nobody’s fault when marriages break down - instead humans are not naturally monogamous so find it difficult to live in such an arrangement. It also makes a point however, that there is nothing wrong with marriage (or having a long-term partner) but affirms that it is going to be hard. People are going to be attracted to other mates.

It has definitely influenced my views on relationships. Having been single for close to two years however, I have a long standing cynicism towards relationships particularly as I have been burned so many times. It is comforting to think that promiscuity is natural and acceptable particularly after being surrounded by conservatives for what seems like forever.

I am really sick of people giving me a hard time for my more liberal attitudes towards sexual partners (which, in comparison to a lot of people isn’t unusual or radical and I am probably on the more conservative end of the scale) and this book is a great read because it confirms to me that those individuals are just conditioned by a society with patriarchal and christian overtones still oppressing women’s sexuality.

Well, this might come back to bite me in the ass later, but I hear it’s actually healthy to keep a journal. Good for the brain - something like that.

I used to keep journals a lot when I was growing up, but I burned them. I was stupid little kid that had too many dreams. I couldn’t let anyone find out about that, right? It was therapeutic, getting rid of them. I doubt anyone will read this. Which is good. It’s kind of hypocritical for me to start a blog now, but I don’t really care. I need something to keep me occupied.

I finally moved out of that shit hole apartment. I’ve checked the new place out and there doesn’t seem to be any mold. The walls are thicker too, which is just what I wanted. Hopefully things will be different this time around.

It should be a new start. I promised dad that things would be different. I know that I have to change..if I want to have my family back. I miss them sometimes, but really, have they ever been there for me? They don’t understand. I can only rely on myself.
